At St Paul’s C of E Primary School, our Computing curriculum is designed to equip children with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Through a carefully sequenced curriculum, pupils develop their understanding of computer science, information technology and digital literacy from their earliest years in school through to Year 6.

Through engaging and purposeful learning, pupils are encouraged to ask questions, investigate, create, communicate and problem-solve using a range of digital tools. Our curriculum supports children in becoming increasingly independent and responsible, developing a rich computing vocabulary and the confidence to apply their learning in new and exciting ways.

Our Computing curriculum builds knowledge and skills progressively, enabling children to explore, create and problem-solve with increasing confidence. Knowledge organisers reinforce key learning and vocabulary, while a dedicated Online Safety focus at the start of each half term supports children to become safe, responsible and confident users of technology.

By the time children leave St Paul’s C of E Primary School, we want them to be confident, creative and responsible digital learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their education and life in an increasingly digital world.Children will be able to apply their computing knowledge and vocabulary, approach problems with resilience, make informed choices when using technology and understand how to keep themselves and others safe online. Most importantly, we want our pupils to see technology not simply as something they use, but as something they can understand, question, create with and use purposefully.
