Welcome to the Year 5

Staff

Our class teachers are Miss Anthony (5A) & Mrs Yates (5Y)

Our teaching assistants are Ms Randall, Mrs Lovatt & Miss Rose

The staff at St Paul’s C of E Primary School are committed to working together to contribute to the healthy growth and development of all our children.

We aim for each child to reach their full potential, to be confident and to develop a positive attitude towards their own learning. We will provide a wide range of learning opportunities for the children, encourage them to value their own achievements and to celebrate the success of others. Our high expectations for achievement include good behaviour, tolerance, co-operation and fairness.

Ethos: Happy and hardworking, healthy head and heart

Vision: to enable all of our pupils to feel safe and secure; and to become confident learners who strive to reach their full potential

Reading & Spelling

Reading with your child is one of the most valuable ways to support their learning. Regular reading helps children build vocabulary, improve understanding, and develop a lifelong love of books. Just a few minutes of reading together each day can boost confidence and make a big difference to their progress in school. Please make sure that you record any reading you do at home in the home school communication book, which is checked every day in school.

Pupils are set new spellings to learn each week, which can be found in their communication books. A full list of spellings for each half term is also attached to this page for reference. Spelling tests take place every Friday afternoon, so we encourage pupils to practise their words regularly at home to help build confidence and accuracy.
