Community Champions

This page is dedicated to our wonderful children and adults in our school community who are champions for a variety of charities and organisations. Each one helping the world to be a better place for us all to live!

Two of our staff members are taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for the Little Princess Trust 🎀

We’re incredibly proud of them for taking on this challenge and supporting such a special charity that provides wigs and hair-loss support to children and young people 💕

Good luck – we’ll be cheering you on all the way!

Congratulations to Isla for taking part in a fundraising event last weekend.

Isla cycled to raise money as part of the ‘Spin for George’ event. Well done Isla, we are really proud of you!

Super Badger Awards; Sisters – Bethany and Dotty

They have also both achieved the Caring Trophy award for the following reasons:

Hair donation – to help another child.

Help to put neighbours bin out

Helped grandparents with weeding/gardening

Made cards at Easter for neighbours/friends and family.

Care for each other. For example- when one is hurt they will go and grab an ice pack and towel for each other.

Food donations – either when we go to morrisons or through the school.

Care for the school environment by doing their volunteer programme which includes helping friends, litter picking. (Have to complete tasks for each area of school life, home life and community)

Coldwells Care Home

Congratulations to Holly for coming first in her Karate Competition.

I just thought I would write and say thank you so much for inviting us to attend your VE Day celebrations.

Some of the ladies that attended are living with Dementia but even today they are talking about how wonderful it was, it really did have a profoundly positive impact. Two of the ladies were so emotional when we got home and were crying happy tears with one saying it made her year!

From being welcomed when we arrived and the children sitting and chatting to our ladies, reminiscing about when they were at school, to seeing all the children around the tables in the playground, the choir singing and the dancing. They had the best time.

We were all very impressed with how well behaved all the children were and how polite they were. They really were a credit to your school, and you should be immensely proud of all the wonderful work you all do.

Thank you again and I do hope we can get together for more events in the future.

Litter Picking

Fraser would like to pass on the amazing work he did in his local village over the weekend. Helping a group of volunteers with a litter pick around the recreational areas.

Little Princess Trust

Bethany and Dotty have now had their hair cut for the Little Princess Trust and have managed to raise an amazing amount of £920 Bethany managed to donate 11inches and Dotty 16-18 inches.

Act of Kindness

Mum wrote ‘Our village church was vandalised two days ago, paint and glue thrown  everywhere. This evening Luke and Felicity rolled up their sleeves, grabbed a sponge, mop or cloth and helped clean the church after such horrible damage.’

Mum explained that both children helped to clean the animals in the nativity crib scene, clean paint from walls, pews, floors and crosses. What model Community Champions you are!

Your family and all here at St Paul’s are very proud of you.

Wow, well done Sienna!

We are very proud of Sienna C who has raised over £65 for the RSPCA by selling loom bands and bracelets that she made herself. Well done Sienna!

Sienna received a badge and a letter from the RSPCA to thank her for all her hard work.

Joseph’s Brilliant Fundraising for the Bartestree Sharks!

Inspired by the Mini Money Makers Year 6 project, Joseph made 30 Christmas gonks and some chocolate brownies. He decided to sell them to his team mates and their parents on Saturday. Joseph made over £70 for The Bartestree Sharks, his incredibly grateful football team.

Well done Joseph, what an inspiration you are!!!

Little Princess Trust

We are so proud of Orla! She has been fundraising for the Little Princess Trust and not only has she made hundreds of cakes to sell, but she has also donated 10 inches of her hair and raised over £800 for this amazing charity!

St Michael’s Hospice

Ava has received a ‘Thank you’ card from Mike Keel, the CEO of St Michael’s Hospice, for the fundraising she has done on their behalf. Ava made Easter cards and then donated them to the Hospice shop to sell. We are so proud of your efforts, Ava – no wonder you have achieved the gold award on the school Volunteer Programme!

HAPS

Well done to Edith, Imogen & Sammy who are pupils here at St Pauls but are also members of HAPS (Hereford Amateur Pantomime Society).  Over the half term the pupils will be taking part in a production of Rapunzel with Sammy performing as Pipkin the Magical Mouse.  Edith and Imogen are some of the youngest chorus members but they have all been amazing during rehearsals.

In 2023 HAPS were pleased to hold their first pantomime since Covid, Snow White over  £2000 was raised for Cardiac Arrest in the Young (CRY) in memory of a local child Kieran Joyce.  After this successful comeback HAPS are now performing in Rapunzel with their chosen charity The CLD Trust.

Little Princess Trust

Well done to Olivia for completing her sponsored haircut on behalf of The Little Princess Trust.  Olivia raised £300 for this charity as well as donating her hair.
