Safeguarding

Our highest priority in school is in guarding the safety of our children and taking all reasonable steps to ensure they are protected from harm.

We recognise our legal duty under s175 Education Act 2002 (section 157 in relation to independent schools and academies) and the 1989 Children Act. We take seriously our responsibilities to protect and safeguard the interests of all pupils.

We recognise that effective child protection work requires sound procedures, good inter-agency co-operation and a team that is competent and confident in responding to child protection situations.

Our policy reflects current legislation, accepted best practice and complies with the government guidance: Working Together to Safeguard Children March 2013 and Keeping Children Safe in Education - September 2016
